Breakfast.

September 11th, 2012

Yesterday I had a dream about eggs and bacon. I think I miss American breakfast.

The food here is great: I eat pizza, gelato or bread and fruit for lunch. For dinner there's always two courses (the first usually pasta or soup and the second some form of meat) followed by fruit for dessert. I always take the plums and I think Fiorella is starting to notice because last night she looked for them among the other fruit and when she found none, brought out two and set them in front of my plate. I happily ate them both.

However, breakfast here is not what I'm accustomed to. Every morning since I arrived I've eaten cookies dipped in heated milk and then a pastry with juice. Don't get me wrong, I love cookies and pastries, but I'm the kind of girl who would eat breakfast for every meal if given the chance. And I'm talking about a breakfast that consists of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, omelets, bagels, pancakes, waffles, toast, etc. In sum, I don't take breakfast food lightly. Anyone want to take a trip to Joe's Cafe when I get back to Provo?
