I bought a pair of shoes at
H&M this weekend. They were reasonably priced and reasonably cute and I
needed black flats, so it just made sense. I wore them for the first time this Monday. I was feeling pretty classy, strutting around in my new shoes until
about, oh 30 seconds into the walk when it felt like the back of my heels were on
fire. Okay, that was dramatic, but I did spend all day looking silly because I was walking on
my toes and, by the end of the day, I had some badly torn up blisters. It wasn’t
a pretty sight. I had to buy Band-Aids. They were 2 euro, which at the time
seemed a pretty reasonable price for sweet relief, but now that it’s Wednesday
and they’re almost gone, I’m lamenting having to buy some more. I miss buying a
10 pack of Hello Kitty Band-Aids from Target for a dollar…
Additionally, this morning I went to put on my soft, comfy Steve Madden sandals I love so much (I still can’t face the H&M black flat
devils… is it just me or does that sound like a potential high school mascot?),
only to discover my sandals have broken! Wah wah, I guess it’s time for a pity
party. The good news is I now feel justified in buying those pretty, 12 euro,
tan flats I was eyeing yesterday. Oh shoes.
