Today while waiting for the bus I found a lucky penny. At first I was hesitant to pick a coin up off the ground, but then I figured most of the coins I already have have been on the ground before and thought about how often you find lucky Italian pennies. Not very often. So I'm keeping it.
After work I decided to get gelato for lunch. I walked past a couple gelaterie and eyed all the flavors, but I was holding out for my favorite Kopakobana strawberry gelato. When I finally got to the door all the lights were off, the doors were closed and the gelato was gone. A sad, lonely sign said "Arrivederci al 2013." What? No gelato for the rest of the year?? What? My hopes crushed, I wandered the street aimlessly looking for other places with gelato. I went to two others and where the gelato used to be, there's now wrapped up cookies and candies. I guess all the rain around here has scared people out of eating or making gelato. I finally found a place, but I still can't believe I'm not going to get my strawberry Kopakobana again. I guess my penny hasn't proven to be very lucky thus far...
